Morebus names Poole Hospital Charity as its official good cause

The local bus operator will spend the year raising funds and awareness to help the charity raise money towards several wards and departments. This year the charity will be focusing fundraising efforts to help make the hospital more dementia friendly.

Last week staff from both the hospital , the charity and Morebus gathered to see the launch of a specially-designed branded bus. The “Poole Hospital Charity Bus” travels passed the hospital several times a day and gives the charity a real boost in brand awareness.

“Poole Hospital Charity is a crucial local resource, helping to pay for additional equipment, research and innovations – as well as finishing touches and ‘extras’ that complement the existing high quality care for patients in and around the town,” said Morebus managing director, Andrew Wickham.

“It provides financial support to areas of the hospital service that lie beyond the scope of NHS funding – and this is of enormous benefit to thousands of people living in the local area.

“Indeed many of our own team have benefited directly from the support Poole Hospital Charity provides. So we are all delighted to be backing this very worthy cause, and raising as much money as possible over the coming year.”

Debbie Fleming, chief executive, Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust added: “We really appreciate all the support given to the hospital by Morebus. They are providing our charity with a fabulous opportunity to involve the community in plans to improve the services and facilities at the hospital during the year.

Anyone wishing to donate to the Morebus fundraising campaign can text MBUS17 £3 to 70070 to donate £3.
